Being a 100% volunteer driven organization, DYS relies on members of the community to step up and help keep our youth soccer program moving along! Knowing this, we are seeking to fill a number of Board and Coordinator positions that will soon be vacant due to expiring terms. Please take a few minutes and review the open positions below and then reach out if you would like to be considered for any.

The club will accept candidate inquiries through the month of June, and in July will transition to a period of community voting (for Board positions) or Board voting (for Coordinator positions). Please know that while past experience in a given area is not required, preference for candidate selection may be given to those with related expertise and to those with kids currently in the DYS program. Any new Board Members or Coordinators must also provide up-to-date Background Checks and Child Safety/Abuse Clearances.
All new Board Members and Coordinators will be finalized in August kicking off either their 2-year or 1-year term, respectively. Unless otherwise noted, all positions are unpaid but are eligible for the club’s 100% registration fee reimbursement policy.
Open Board Member Positions (all are 2-Year Terms)
Club President – oversees all club business and presides at all monthly meetings of the Board of Directors
Vice President – in the absence of the President, oversees all club business and carries out other club duties as assigned by the Board
Secretary – Coordination of monthly Board Meetings, including setting agendas, recording meeting minutes and results of any Board votes.
Open Coordinator Positions (all are 1-Year Terms)
Select Program Coordinator
- Alignment with Select coaches on team player needs
- Help to identify and onboard new Select coaches
- Communicate with Select team coaches on important dates, events and activities
- In conjunction with Field Coordinator, schedule practice times and communicate to Select coaches
- Coordination with Select leagues regarding player/team registration and DYS participation at annual meetings
- Coordination of pre-season Select league competition planning
- Serve as primary point of contact for any questions or issues related to Select teams
Recreational Program Coordinator
- Manage Rec team formation process, including identification of Coaches and placement of players onto teams
- Communicate with Rec team coaches on important dates, events and activities
- In conjunction with Field Coordinator, schedule practice times and communicate to Rec coaches
- Coordination with Rec leagues regarding player/team registration and DYS participation at annual meetings
- Serve as primary point of contact for any questions or issues that arise from parents or players in your age group
AndMe Program Coordinator
- Work with Registrar to assemble AndMe player groups and parent volunteers
- Communicate with AndMe parents regarding important dates, events and activities
- In conjunction with Field Coordinator, schedule practice times and communicate to AndMe parents
- Serve as primary point of contact for any questions or issues that arise from parents or players in your age group
U6 Program Coordinator
- Work with Registrar to build balanced teams, including identification of Coaches and Asst Coaches
- Communicate with U6 Coaches and parents regarding important dates, events and activities
- In conjunction with Field Coordinator, schedule practice and game times and communicate to U6 parents
- In conjunction with Uniform Coordinator, distribute team uniforms at start of season
- Serve as primary point of contact for any questions or issues that arise from parents or players in your age group
U8 Program Coordinator
- Work with Registrar to build balanced teams, including identification of Coaches and Asst Coaches
- Communicate with U8 Coaches and parents regarding important dates, events and activities
- In conjunction with Field Coordinator, schedule practice and game times and communicate to U8 parents
- In conjunction with Uniform Coordinator, distribute team uniforms at start of season
- Serve as primary point of contact for any questions or issues that arise from parents or players in your age group
Risk Management Coordinator
- Responsible for communication to all individuals in the Club regarding clearance compliance
- In conjunction with DYS age group Coordinators, drive 100% adherence to league policies for state clearances, background checks and other required training;
- Ensure that all clearances are up to date and on file in the appropriate system prior to a Coach or Manager starting their DYS position
- Serve as Club’s primary point of contact for any questions, concerns or specific issues related to the league’s risk management policy
Director of Coaching – this is a PAID position, pay commensurate with experience (not to exceed $4,000 for full-year commitment); requires Board approval and interview process
- Coordinate annual Select tryouts and player evaluation process
- Coordinate, monitor and provide, when necessary, education for DYS Coaches at all levels
- Manage concerns or opportunities identified by DYS Coaches, Parents or Players regarding current or future playing opportunities – including skill level, playing time or other
- Communicate with coaches and age group coordinators on a regular basis to provide coaching information and resources
- Maintain a list of resources and materials for coaches availability
- Oversee the conduct of all coaches and assistant coaches in the Club
- In conjunction with Equipment Coordinator, advise on equipment inventory and equipment purchases
